This arm to the PTA is home to the following subcommittees:
  1. Student Achievement and Enrichment
  2. Curriculum
  3. Student Recognition
  4. Health and Wellness
  5. Teacher Appreciation
  6. Teacher/Club Grants
More details on each of these subcommittees are found throughout this blog along with the descriptions of the programs that are implemented under each one of them. I encourage you to browse these subcommittees to see how the PTA is working with your child, our middle school, and the community at-large to enhance student learning and achievement.

There are many opportunities for you to participate both in school and from home or work. Please consider volunteering to lead or assist with one of our programs. I am seldom asked, "Why should I get involved?" My very simple answer is that our [parents] involvement makes a dramatic difference in our children's education. Besides hundreds of research studies show that when parents get involved children do better in school.

My responsibilities in this position include:
  • identifying and gathering information important to education and the community.
  • becoming acquainted with the school staff and other stakeholders.
  • making sure that the PTA membership is familiar with Inman and its programs.
  • informing and educating the PTA membership on issues related to education and student learning/achievement.
  • informing the PTA membership on how to gain access to education resources.
  • encouraging participation in the various education subcommittees, which provide meaningful and valuable information to students and their families.
  • keeping a procedure book.
If you would to volunteer to lead or participate in any of the subcommittees, please do not hesitate to call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from and working with you during this school year.

Kindest Regards,
Leah McLeod - mom to Surayya (7th) and Nia (6th)
